Hockey Europe held its 2026 General Assembly in Tenerife on September 30, alongside the IIHF Semi-Annual Congress. Representatives of Europe’s leading professional leagues came together to discuss the organisation’s continued development and key topics shaping the future of professional hockey across the continent.

Positive development and continued leadership

Hockey Europe has further strengthened its position as a joint platform for the leading professional leagues. Reflecting this positive development, Denis Vaucher was unanimously re-elected as President for the 2026/27 season.

“Hockey Europe has developed into a strong and trusted platform for our leagues. We want to continue building on this foundation and bring a coordinated league perspective into the key discussions shaping our sport,” said Vaucher.

Looking ahead

The General Assembly also focused on the future development of European club hockey, the evolving international competition landscape and the importance of maintaining strong and sustainable professional leagues across the continent.

Being held alongside the IIHF Semi-Annual Congress also created valuable opportunities for direct discussions with leading representatives from across the hockey community. Hockey Europe will continue to contribute the perspective of its member leagues and play an active part in shaping the future of the game.
