Pursuing the vision to be Europe’s greatest ice hockey competition, the Champions Hockey League provides 24 teams from 11 leagues with the platform to go beyond and to battle in a total of 101 games from August to February to be Champions of Europe.
Headquartered in Zug, Switzerland, the Champions Hockey League AG (CHL) is the company holding all rights of the competition and organising the event. The CHL is an AG (Aktiengesellschaft = Ltd.) registered under Swiss Law. As such, the CHL is owned by shareholders and governed by a board which is elected at the CHL General Meeting, the league’s legislative body.
The shareholding structure of the company is as follows: 63% percent of the shares are owned by 26 European Clubs, 25% belong to 6 National Leagues and 12% are held by the International Ice Hockey Federation IIHF.
